You might remember me from such publications as The Boston Globe, where I had a books column and wrote weekly reviews and feature stories, or from the Boston Phoenix, where I wrote about books, movies, television, and politics. Or maybe you read The Baffler, where I'm a contributing editor. (Here's my latest essay.) A few years ago, I stopped working full-time as a journalist and left Boston for my hometown of Chicago. (Living somewhere with good weather wasn't in the cards, I guess.) As of 2024, I'm working on a few projects TBA and looking to start a few more. Email me.
I like writing essays and longform features.
